Just thought I'd raise this for discussion, I understand there may be something in the rules about not being able to water a track once racing is started and I was hope someone can explain to me why this is?

Now back at my old home club across the ditch we would water the track at the start of the day and inbetween rounds (maybe less if it was an overcast day). This stopped the track from breaking up and made the track and race times more consistent throughout the day, especially important for qual so you didn't have to set your time in the first round.
Other advantages it offered was it kept the dust down, we had to sweep less and my big favourite was that tire wear was extremey low saving lots of tire $$$.

Now off course all surfaces are not created equal but what I've seen so far from the Ryde track is that it does hold together quite well when its damp. There may also be other factors I'm not aware of like water charges etc.

So please let me know your thoughts either way, I'm keen to hear your opinion on this!

Cheers
Shane
